Hello! Our group is “Modern Students”! We chose this name after discovering the things we had in common. The members of this group are different but all of us liked TV serial, especially Modern Family and we´re studying teaching training, so this is the reason of our name. We have created this blog to post here all the things that we are going to do in the subject “Institutional Organization”.

Our logo is the same as the serial but we have written “Students” instead of “Family”.

We hope you enjoy this blog!

CREATIVE SCHOOL: GIVING

ANSWER

TO STUDENTS NEEDS IN THE 21st

CENTURY.

This project has helped me a lot to think about how would be my ideal school, things that I would like to have, what can be change from the current schools and what to do or what to consider in order to carry out these changes.

I think therewere very good ideas in my group to create a school where everything worked properly with facilities for students, parents and teachers. Our group thought that a good school could be located close to nature and more or less out of town for children to relate with the environment and learn to care for and know its importance.
Also related with nature, we want in our school there are animals in classrooms like rabbits, hamsters, or insects to learn to be responsible and take care of other things in an entertaining way and with which they can enjoy in class.

Another thing we would like in our school is a greater participation of parents in the learning and development of their children, for it had thought they might have certain days or certain hours where could be present in the classroom and see how work their children for know better how help them at home or assist teachers and give them ideas on how children could internalize better the ideas they are trying to transmit.

In this school, it is essential that teachers interact and cooperate with each other to improve professionally, acquiring methods of teaching each other and talking about specific cases to receive ideas from other teachers and so help each other.

Another important idea we would want that be given in our school is that this will base more on projects than in exams, because we think that students learn much more this way. We had also thought that children should have more free time in the evenings, instead of sending so many duties, to make sure they are learning and they will be prepared to exams, it would be interesting that these projects are carried out in class and making them are learning what will enter in the exams.

We have also taken into account the possible problems we would face in order to carry out all these ideas that would make our school a place where children learn having fun.

For example, to get that greater involvement which we spoke by parents, we need to give them facilities to enable them to attend classes or having meetings often with teachers. To do this, teachers will often have meetings and even parents can not attend one, will have another soon.
Our school would try has a bus to make a route to take children to school and then to their homes, as being situated outside the city many parents could not bring them to class. If the option bus could not be done, we would have a more flexible time table, with teachers who take care of children before and after school started.

Many of the groups have more or less the same ideas, but seeing their works have been able to expand our concept of ideal school, as there have been great proposals.

These are some suggestions of muy colleagues from other groups:

- Conduct a cooperative learning.

- Teach the different cultures of the world to prevent bullying.

- Teachers will have to pass tests every so often to check that they are still good teachers.

- Teach them some fundamental values for the development of a child as a student and as a person. For example: respect, tolerance, multiculturality, empathy, trust, solidarity and equality.

- Teach using new technologies to learn to use them while having fun and study.

- Adapting school facilities for children with disabilities.
